The Illusion of Miracles

A miracle, as defined religiously, is a supernatural event that defies the known laws of nature and is attributed to divine intervention, mystical forces, or individuals regarded as holy, such as prophets, priests, or religious leaders.

But is there any real evidence for the existence of miracles?

In reality, miracles exist only in the minds of those who believe in them. More often than not, a “miracle” is simply a natural phenomenon or an illusion witnessed by a group of people who couldn’t explain it rationally—or merely heard about it through stories and chose to believe it, assigning it a sacred status.

Thus, the true definition of a miracle is that it is a purely human event falsely attributed to supernatural forces due to a lack of logical understanding.

Miracles: Tools for Controlling Minds

Miracles are nothing more than instruments of deception—carefully crafted tricks designed to mislead and exploit gullible minds. The less knowledge a person has, the more likely they are to perceive mysterious occurrences as divine intervention.

For example, if one of our ancestors from ancient times were to witness a phenomenon like a solar eclipse or a lunar eclipse without prior knowledge of its cause, they would likely interpret it as an act of the gods or divine punishment. However, if someone in their time had claimed to predict such events, they would have been revered as a prophet or even a deity, and their words would have been regarded as sacred truth.

What has changed today? Simply put, scientific progress has increased human awareness, allowing us to understand and explain natural phenomena logically. As a result, the concept of miracles has gradually weakened.

From Prophets to Modern-Day Charlatans

History repeats itself. In the past, individuals who claimed to perform miracles were called “prophets.” Today, they are known as “gurus” or “spiritual healers.” But the methods remain largely the same.

  • They present themselves as humble and detached from materialism to gain the trust of their followers.
  • They use psychological tricks and illusions to convince people of their supposed healing powers, foresight, or ability to communicate with the unseen world.
  • They instill fear and awe in their followers, ensuring their lifelong devotion.

But their ultimate goal was never to serve humanity—it has always been to exploit people psychologically, financially, and sometimes even politically. Throughout history, miracles have been used as tools for mass control, keeping populations ignorant and submissive while preventing them from thinking critically or seeking truth beyond religious narratives.

Fighting the Illusion of Miracles: A Rational Duty

Despite scientific and intellectual advancements, the danger of religions and sects remains strong, and miracles continue to be used as a means of mental subjugation.

For this reason, confronting this illusion is a collective responsibility that requires:

  1. Promoting scientific awareness: The more people understand the laws of nature, the less likely they are to believe in superstitions.
  2. Encouraging critical thinking: Societies that think deeply and question narratives cannot be easily manipulated.
  3. Exposing deception and fraud: Whether under the guise of religion, spirituality, or even pseudosciences like alternative medicine.

Today, humanity needs a free and independent belief system—one based on personal experience rather than blind adherence to figures who died centuries ago.

Miracles are nothing but a human-made illusion, and the only true miracle is knowledge and reason.
