No Freedom with Islam

To believe, in the 21st century, that freedom can exist alongside Islam is to embrace absurdity and irrationality. Islam, which presents itself as a religion, is in reality nothing more than a political, Arab-centric, repressive ideology disguised in sacredness.

But where in the Quran is the word freedom mentioned?
Does the Quran recognize or permit freedom?
Is there freedom in even the smallest details of personal life—food, clothing, thought, criticism, belief, travel, or leaving Islam?
Does Islam allow for social, political, or economic freedoms?
Does it even permit the freedom to choose how to live or die?

The reality is simple and undeniable: There is no freedom with Islam.

Islam and Slavery, Not Freedom

Historically, the term “free” in early Islam did not mean liberty in the modern sense. It was merely used to differentiate between a slave and a free person. Islam did not come to liberate individuals but to transfer them from human slavery to absolute servitude to Allah and His Prophet.

This is reinforced in the Quran:

“And whatever the Messenger has given you—take; and what he has forbidden you—refrain from.” (Al-Hashr:7)

According to Islamic interpretations, this verse demands absolute obedience to Muhammad’s commands, leaving no room for personal choice.

Did Islam truly bring freedom, or did it enforce a new form of slavery—one that dictates even thoughts and emotions, forcing believers into hypocrisy and fear under the guise of devotion?

The Illusion of Freedom in Islam

Some Muslims cite verses like:

“Whoever wills—let him believe; and whoever wills—let him disbelieve.” (Al-Kahf:29)

But is this a true invitation to freedom? The verse continues by immediately threatening disbelievers with hellfire:

“Indeed, We have prepared for the wrongdoers a Fire whose walls will surround them. And if they call for relief, they will be relieved with water like molten brass, which scalds their faces.”

So, in Islam, freedom of belief is an illusion:
Either you believe, or you face the harshest punishments!

If Islam truly respected freedom of belief, why does it impose the death penalty for apostasy?
Why does it force non-Muslims to pay jizya (a discriminatory tax)?
Why does it forbid marriage with ex-Muslims?

This is not freedom—it is a carefully constructed system of control and coercion.

Islam and Disrespect for Others

Muslims demand respect for their religion, but does Islam respect other beliefs?

The Quran explicitly:

  • Calls non-Muslims “impure” (At-Tawbah:28).
  • Compares Jews and Christians to apes and pigs (Al-Ma’idah:60).
  • Labels non-believers as “worse than cattle” (Al-A’raf:179).
  • Criminalizes any criticism of Islam, while openly mocking other religions.

If Islam does not respect the freedom of others, why should it expect respect in return?

Freedom of Expression: Myth vs. Reality

Tunisia, a country that claims to be a democracy, prosecuted activist Amena El-Sherif simply because she posted “Surah Corona,” a satirical version of a Quranic chapter.

But didn’t the Quran itself challenge people:

“Then produce a surah like it.” (Al-Baqarah:23)

If Islam dares people to create a similar chapter, why does it imprison those who accept the challenge?

What happened to Amena El-Sherif is not an exception—it is part of a systematic oppression of free thought imposed by Islamists on anyone who dares to question or criticize the religion.

True freedom is not just the ability to profess belief—it is also the right to reject it without fear of punishment or violence.

Islam: The Enemy of Freedom

  1. No Freedom of Belief – Apostates are sentenced to death, and non-Muslims must pay jizya.
  2. No Freedom of Speech – Criticism of Islam is punishable by imprisonment or death.
  3. No Freedom for Women – Women are treated as inferior and are forced into submission.
  4. No Personal Freedom – Islam dictates clothing, diet, lifestyle, and even private thoughts.
  5. No Social Freedom – It enforces division between Muslims and non-Muslims, men and women, believers and disbelievers.

Islam is not a religion of freedom—it is a totalitarian system that controls every aspect of human life, preventing individuals from thinking or acting independently.

Conclusion: Islam and Progress Cannot Coexist

Islam is not merely a religion; it is a repressive political ideology that denies freedom and punishes dissenters with death and eternal torment.

A nation that claims to uphold human rights and freedom cannot be an Islamic state, because Islam is fundamentally incompatible with any form of genuine liberty.

The struggle to free minds from religious oppression is long and difficult, but it is essential for building a society based on true freedom, not submission to religious authority.

Freedom, dignity, and justice will only be achieved when people liberate themselves from the chains of Islam.
