Where Does the Danger of Faith Lie?
I have often wondered: where does the danger that religions pose to humanity today and in the future truly lie? Is it in the idea of believing in “God”? Or is it in religion itself? I don’t think so; believing in “God” or in religion alone does not pose a threat to humanity as long as it remains at the level of mere belief.
I have no objection to “God” as a concept or to religion as an idea or a reality, provided that their influence does not extend beyond enriching the mind. There are many things that people believe in, whether they exist or not, such as extraterrestrial beings or the forces of good and evil. However, the problem arises when we do not stop at the level of simple belief.
The idea of “God” has become so deeply ingrained in human minds that an individual’s or a group’s entire life can almost completely depend on it. The real danger emerges when this belief is accompanied by more perilous ideas—such as those that make individuals believe they are representatives of divine nature in the universe.
The Destructive Influence of Religious Doctrine
This perspective is alarming, especially when certain individuals claim to be sent by “God” to lead humanity toward truth and righteousness.
The Corrupting Power of Prophets
Those who claim to be prophets cannot be seen as benefactors of humanity, as their message is built upon a particular doctrine that ultimately serves personal or national ambitions. To alter the economic and political realities of their regions, these individuals exploit the naïve minds of those who are victims of the injustices of their time.
Mental Domination Through Doctrine
The title of “prophet” grants these individuals absolute power over those around them—not due to their intelligence, but through manipulation and mental control. They take advantage of the conditions of their era to present their ideas as revolutionary renewal.
Religion as a Tool for Social Control
The so-called “new religion,” allegedly sent by “God” to save lost souls, is nothing but a means to reclaim authority. It creates strong opposition to the existing system and seeks to overturn the status quo. These methods are passed down from generation to generation, guarded within families until they reach the status of prophethood.
The Ambition for Absolute Control
The ambition of these so-called prophets extends beyond mere political dominance; they seek absolute control over the human mind in all its aspects. They strip individuals of their free will through relentless propaganda that tolerates no dissent, aiming to mold the entire world to think as they do.
The Necessity of Freeing Humanity
It is our duty to prevent such individuals from harming others by distorting ideas and imposing beliefs, and to put an end to this process of creating intellectual slaves. The religious phenomenon must be confronted by all means necessary to liberate humanity from its dependency—separating religion from society and even from the individual, so that every person can fully assume responsibility for their own life.
Regardless of what or whom we believe in, our faith should be solid and genuine. True belief is born from within and should never be imposed by tradition or society.
