The Importance of the Internet in the World

The internet, as we know it today, is an open window to the vast world. You can find almost anything within it, yet at the same time, you can easily get lost. In our limited lives and our endless desire to know everything, we ultimately end up knowing nothing. This is how our lives slip away before our eyes, without us being able to specialize in anything that truly contributes to the advancement of humanity. No matter how small the contribution, it is always better than nothing.

To truly have the ability to contribute to humanity’s progress, an individual must specialize and carefully choose what they want to know and what they want to do in life. Over time, their expertise will grow, and they will become a valuable resource for others.

There was a time when a significant portion of humanity lived in ignorance and illiteracy. The individual had no distinct identity; they were absorbed into the collective, forced to belong to a clan, tribe, or group to distinguish themselves from others and, more importantly, to seek protection. Regardless of the ideological group they belonged to, the individual held no real importance. The majority, lacking knowledge, was content to follow a small educated elite—or those who merely pretended to be educated—who controlled everything.

Fortunately, since those distant times, the situation has continued to evolve. Today, most people can read and write, and internet access has become increasingly widespread, even though much progress is still needed in this area. Although many of us aspire to develop our own independent thoughts, doing so requires extensive research and patience.

Due to lack of time, courage, financial means, emotional support, or intellectual resources, many people give up on independent research and instead turn to ideological groups that offer ready-made ideas—like a “ready-to-wear” concept for beliefs. As a result, they lose the ability they once had to think and achieve personal growth.

Fortunately, humanity has always managed to find solutions to overcome obstacles and continue its progress.

Despite the growing number of specialized websites, personal virtual platforms are still in their infancy. However, they are extremely valuable as they facilitate access to detailed information. These platforms allow individuals to share their perspectives on various topics, exchange experiences, and spread knowledge.

Even if these types of websites are often run by a single individual, their purpose is to foster participation. They allow the author to refine their ideas through feedback while also providing others with access to diverse experiences and perspectives that they might never have encountered otherwise.

It can be said that those who do not have their own website or blog leave nothing behind for history. Every conscious individual should leave their mark on the internet, just as kings and famous figures of the past left their own legacies. Those who fail to make their mark will ultimately be forgotten by history.
