Power is always surrounded by multiple forces that protect, monitor, and sometimes even control it. In advanced countries, if these forces are legal and transparent, they\u2019re known as the \u201csafety valve.\u201d But if they are secretive and above accountability, they are called the \u201cdeep state\u201d in developing nations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"590\" data-end=\"887\">Between the deep state and the safety valve, the nature of regimes is defined, the destinies of peoples are shaped, and the battles between tyranny and freedom are managed. At the heart of this struggle lies Tunisia\u2026 swinging for years between the dream of salvation and the nightmare of collapse.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Who Really Governs in Nations?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"925\" data-end=\"1208\">No president or king rules alone. Every ruler, no matter how powerful, is kept in place by a specific elite\u2014who also hold the power to remove him whenever they wish. In democratic systems, this elite is public and legitimate. In authoritarian regimes, it is hidden and above the law.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1210\" data-end=\"1492\">In developed countries, the interests of this elite are directly tied to the state\u2019s stability and citizens&#8217; welfare. They switch out figureheads as needed and reshape the political scene to fit their interests.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"4045\" data-end=\"4417\">When Ben Ali fell, it wasn\u2019t just a \u201cpopular revolution.\u201d It was also because the deep state abandoned him\u2014on foreign instruction.<br data-start=\"4175\" data-end=\"4178\" \/>Then they handed power to the Islamists in a clear deal\u2014on the condition that the presidency remained untouched.<br data-start=\"4290\" data-end=\"4293\" \/>And when the Islamists were no longer useful, they pushed <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kais_Saied\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kais Saied<\/a> to the forefront, fully supported by these same forces.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"4419\" data-end=\"4473\"><strong>Kais Saied: The New Face of the Deep State Project<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"4475\" data-end=\"4665\">Kais Saied was elected in 2019 with support from the Islamists themselves\u2014due to their political ignorance and strategic na\u00efvet\u00e9.<br data-start=\"4604\" data-end=\"4607\" \/>But they didn\u2019t know the safety valve had already decided:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"4667\" data-end=\"4786\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"4667\" data-end=\"4695\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"4669\" data-end=\"4695\">To hand him the presidency<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"4696\" data-end=\"4733\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"4698\" data-end=\"4733\">To let him rewrite the constitution<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"4734\" data-end=\"4786\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"4736\" data-end=\"4786\">To prepare the scene for a full institutional coup<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"4788\" data-end=\"4912\">And so it happened. A new project began: the systematic dismantling of what was left of political and civil life in Tunisia.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"4914\" data-end=\"4971\"><strong>The Real Mission of Kais Saied: Systematic Demolition<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"4973\" data-end=\"5112\">The safety valve didn\u2019t elevate Kais Saied out of love or in obedience to popular will. He was simply the right man for a specific mission:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"5114\" data-end=\"5360\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"5114\" data-end=\"5154\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5116\" data-end=\"5154\">Block migration to Europe\u2014at all costs<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"5155\" data-end=\"5236\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5157\" data-end=\"5236\">Turn Tunisia into a buffer zone without sovereignty, used for mass deportations<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"5237\" data-end=\"5282\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5239\" data-end=\"5282\">Completely destroy political and civil life<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"5283\" data-end=\"5360\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5285\" data-end=\"5360\">Create a climate of fear and surrender, and dismantle the state from within<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5362\" data-end=\"5380\">He was allowed to:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"5382\" data-end=\"5532\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"5382\" data-end=\"5404\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5384\" data-end=\"5404\">Overthrow parliament<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"5405\" data-end=\"5430\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5407\" data-end=\"5430\">Jail opposition figures<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"5431\" data-end=\"5449\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5433\" data-end=\"5449\">Muzzle the media<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"5450\" data-end=\"5476\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5452\" data-end=\"5476\">Freeze political parties<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"5477\" data-end=\"5506\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5479\" data-end=\"5506\">Strangle civil associations<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"5507\" data-end=\"5532\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5509\" data-end=\"5532\">Undermine the judiciary<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5534\" data-end=\"5582\">He even managed to wreck Tunisia\u2019s image abroad.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"5584\" data-end=\"5621\"><strong>Who Really Governs Tunisia Today?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5623\" data-end=\"5843\">The Tunisian safety valve\u2014comprising senior officers, security heads, and intelligence leaders\u2014is the true power holder.<br data-start=\"5743\" data-end=\"5746\" \/>Kais Saied is merely the fa\u00e7ade, executing orders in exchange for ongoing support and protection.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5845\" data-end=\"5858\">These forces:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"5860\" data-end=\"6045\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"5860\" data-end=\"5900\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5862\" data-end=\"5900\">Know all internal and external details<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"5901\" data-end=\"5959\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5903\" data-end=\"5959\">Balance foreign directives with their internal interests<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"5960\" data-end=\"6045\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5962\" data-end=\"6045\">Are simply waiting for the right moment to discard Saied\u2026 once his role is complete<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"6047\" data-end=\"6109\"><strong>Why Doesn\u2019t the Safety Valve Care About the People\u2019s Will?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"6111\" data-end=\"6453\">The answer is simple:<br data-start=\"6132\" data-end=\"6135\" \/>In weak nations, the people pose no real threat\u2014so long as they\u2019re scattered, politically unaware, and moved by religious or nationalist emotions.<br data-start=\"6281\" data-end=\"6284\" \/>In such cases, the deep state prefers to please global powers rather than its own citizens, because its survival depends more on external approval than internal support.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"6455\" data-end=\"6583\">The weak seek survival\u2026<br data-start=\"6478\" data-end=\"6481\" \/>The strong seek dominance.<br data-start=\"6507\" data-end=\"6510\" \/>This is the rule guiding the safety valve\u2019s behavior in the Global South.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"6585\" data-end=\"6651\"><strong>Tunisia Is Boiling from Within\u2026 And the Breaking Point Is Near<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"6653\" data-end=\"6715\">All signs indicate that the current situation cannot continue:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"6717\" data-end=\"6869\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"6717\" data-end=\"6746\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"6719\" data-end=\"6746\">The economy is collapsing<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"6747\" data-end=\"6770\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"6749\" data-end=\"6770\">Services are broken<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"6771\" data-end=\"6796\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"6773\" data-end=\"6796\">Corruption is rampant<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"6797\" data-end=\"6820\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"6799\" data-end=\"6820\">Security is fragile<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"6821\" data-end=\"6842\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"6823\" data-end=\"6842\">Freedoms are gone<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"6843\" data-end=\"6869\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"6845\" data-end=\"6869\">Public anger is rising<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"6871\" data-end=\"6971\">These ingredients signal an impending explosion\u2014one the deep state may no longer be able to contain.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"6973\" data-end=\"7123\">The safety valve is already looking for a replacement for Kais Saied\u2014but in a way that won\u2019t expose the project or open the door to chaos.<br data-start=\"7111\" data-end=\"7114\" \/>It needs:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"7125\" data-end=\"7256\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"7125\" data-end=\"7145\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"7127\" data-end=\"7145\">The right timing<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"7146\" data-end=\"7205\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"7148\" data-end=\"7205\">A replacement acceptable to the international community<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"7206\" data-end=\"7256\">\n<p class=\"\" figures, and real intellectuals\u2014comes in.<br data-start=\"7433\" data-end=\"7436\" \/>Now is the chance to build a unified national civil front as a democratic alternative.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"7524\" data-end=\"7553\">But that won\u2019t happen unless:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"7555\" data-end=\"7786\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"7555\" data-end=\"7610\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"7557\" data-end=\"7610\">All ideological and personal disputes are set aside<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"7611\" data-end=\"7666\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"7613\" data-end=\"7666\">A unified, humane, civic national charter is formed<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"7667\" data-end=\"7786\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"7669\" data-end=\"7786\">A real political project is presented\u2014one that convinces the people and forces the deep state to let go of Kais Saied<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"7788\" data-end=\"7836\"><strong>The Coming Revolution: A Revolution of Minds<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"7838\" data-end=\"8080\">The next revolution in Tunisia will not be one of hunger alone\u2014it will be a revolution of awareness and thought.<br data-start=\"7950\" data-end=\"7953\" \/>The revolution that can save the country won\u2019t succeed through slogans\u2014but with a fresh vision that moves past the past decade:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"8082\" data-end=\"8307\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"8082\" data-end=\"8126\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"8084\" data-end=\"8126\">No democracy without strong institutions<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"8127\" data-end=\"8166\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"8129\" data-end=\"8166\">No freedom without an aware society<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"8167\" data-end=\"8215\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"8169\" data-end=\"8215\">No prosperity without an independent economy<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"8216\" data-end=\"8307\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"8218\" data-end=\"8307\">And no salvation without a collective will that transcends instincts and narrow loyalties<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"8309\" data-end=\"8342\">As Aboul-Qacem Echebbi once said:<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"8344\" data-end=\"8416\"><strong data-start=\"8344\" data-end=\"8416\">\u201cIf the people someday will to live, then fate must surely respond.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"8418\" data-end=\"8488\">Yes\u2014fate responds when the will is grounded in awareness, not emotion.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"8495\" data-end=\"8541\"><strong>Conclusion: Tunisia Before 2030\u2026 Where to?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"8543\" data-end=\"8607\">All signs suggest Tunisia is at a critical crossroads.<br data-start=\"8597\" data-end=\"8600\" \/>Either:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"8609\" data-end=\"8773\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"8609\" data-end=\"8672\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"8611\" data-end=\"8672\">Further descent into dictatorship and total collapse,<br data-start=\"8664\" data-end=\"8667\" \/>Or:<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"8673\" data-end=\"8773\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"8675\" data-end=\"8773\">A return to a rational, civilized path\u2014led by a new elite that forces the safety valve to retreat.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"8775\" data-end=\"9025\">The opportunity is there, and early signs are emerging.<br data-start=\"8830\" data-end=\"8833\" \/>What matters now is that the elite break their silence, and that a national project be forged\u2014this time not just to topple a regime, but to build a real state worthy of Tunisia and its people.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"9027\" data-end=\"9129\"><strong data-start=\"9027\" data-end=\"9049\">Long live Tunisia,<\/strong><br data-start=\"9049\" data-end=\"9052\" \/><strong data-start=\"9052\" data-end=\"9129\">And long live every free, civilized, humane, and progressive human
